4th Street Project

The seeding subcontractor has reseeded areas that have not grown grass yet. Please refrain from spraying for any weeds for 3 weeks. You can spray starting the week of July 15th if you’d like, but the contractor will also be responsible for controlling weed growth as well.

Contractors have been working on completing punch list items the last week or so. These are items are deficiencies that were noticed in the site walk through by the city and engineering staff this spring.

Concrete work should be wrapped up by early next week

Utility castings in the street have been raised and are marked with cones, so be careful to avoid hitting those castings while driving. These have been raised to the elevation that the final layer of paving will be at once that is done.

We do not have a date yet for the final layer of paving, but when we know that, we will send out flyers to all residents. We expect it to be in the coming weeks.

A lawn care flyer was handed out. If you missed that flyer, the information is below.

  • THE GRASS IS STILL GERMINATING AND NEEDS TIME AND HEAT TO GROW.
  • PLEASE DO NOT SPRAY ANY PART OF YOUR LAWN. THE CONTRACTOR WILL TAKE CARE OF WEED CONTROL. SPRAYING TOO SOON WILL HARM THE NEW GRASS.
  • MOW YOUR GRASS ON YOUR LAWN MOWER’S HIGHEST SETTING WHENEVER YOU WOULD NORMALLY MOW THE REST OF YOUR LAWN. MOWING AT A HIGH SETTING HELPS WITH WEED CONTROL.
  • THE SEEDING CONTRACTOR WILL BE ONSITE IN EARLY JUNE TO FERTILIZE, REMOVE WEEDS, AND RESEED AREAS THAT NEED IT.

Per Goodhue County the 4% interest rate is applied annually to the remaining balance of the assessment following the previous year's payments. You can contact the Goodhue County Property Tax Department at 651-385-3040 and they can provide you with your full 15 year payment schedule including the principal and interest amounts for each year.
